Resurrected Adam is also very genre savvy: when he is busy explaining why he agreed to what Zachariah and Michael planned for him he dismisses Sam, Dean and Bobby's worries with the "they're angels; they wouldn't lie" mentality. Angels don't lie. Everyone knows that. Oopsie. Unfortunately these are not that kind of angel.

For an excellent example of genre savvy, rewatch Monster Movie: they are flummoxed because their knowledge of how vampires act is nothing like how movie monsters act and apparently they don't watch old horror movies (must be too much like a busman's holiday!).
