*Bliss*
You know, you wouldn't think it, up here in the north woods boondocks, but there seems to be more of us LotR fans than you would think.
My little town doesn't have a place that would sell the LotR Special Edition Collectors Set. (Yes, I have to have it all!) It falls upon my husband, who works in the "big" city to stop at Best Buy and pick up a copy.
SO... I call him at 3:00 and he says he's leaving work and is going call me when he has it. 3:30 -- no call. 4:45 -- no call. 4:00 -- no call. I try him (see, I'm not obsessed, I waited until 4 to call). He doesn't pick up. I wait. I fret. 4:10 -- no call. 4:15 -- no call. I really fret.
Finally, a call.
"Hello." (me)
"Hi." (him)
"So, where are you?" (playing it cool -- as if the numbers on his cell phone won't give me away)
"Well, I'm at Best Buy." (he's evil, you know)
"Oh, good." (pause) "Going in or coming out." (I break, he knew I would)
"Leaving. Heading for the car. Lots of people." (remember, he's evil)
"And?" (not playing it cool anymore)
"The car's still there..." (evil, evil, evil)
He did pick it up. I have to work until 6 or 6:30 so I will not be able to see it right away, but I'm happy knowing it is waiting for me.
He said, however, that when he finally located it in the store and picked up our copy, there were only two left on the shelf.
I'm very glad that he didn't work until 5:00.
He said that everyone in the store had a copy of Clones and that most also had a copy of LotR. And that the "collectors edition" was the most popular choice.
AND that the bookends look really cool.
Heh.
