Prayer

With the school year underway, we're back to doing a morning prayer.

This was the one I wrote for today:

The beginning of any school year is filled with promise. A new grade, a new year, a new opportunity, another chance. School supplies echo this: Freshly sharpened pencils, unblemished erasers, ink-filled pens, shiny binders, and unworn backpacks.

The beginning of the school years is just that new chance to start again. All the mistakes from last year are gone just like the battered erasers that we used to try and fix them. We can put all of that behind us and start again: with a new class, clean white boards and snappy new name tags.

But it's important to remember that we don't have to wait until a new school year. With God, each day can be a new beginning. He offers us forgiveness each time we ask for it. Old mistakes don't have to follow us from day to day any more than past mistakes need to follow a student from grade to grade. We need to remember to start each day with those freshly-sharpened pencils, unblemished erasers and unworn backpacks. Each day is a new beginning filled with promise.

Hi! I've been reading through your posts starting at the bottom of your current front page, and just seeing what kind of person I just friended (I'm Allie O'N, and I just sent you feedback for A Bird in the Hand.) It looks like we have a lot in common. Are you a teacher?

I've taught in a Christian School for three years. This year, however, I'm just a volunteer so I have time to stay home and be a housewife three days a week. I like SciFi, fantasy, country music, and I write SG1 fanfic with the help and indulgance of my Hubby. :)

I teach Computer Literacy for PreK through 8th grade. I love the job.

Glad to have you as a friend. I also like SciFi, fantasy, and country music, although I'll take anything with good looking men with guns.

Heh.

As you can tell, I'm not a reliable poster. As I recently wrote: I'm a fickle and unreliable poster at the best of times; occasionally, I write.

*hugs new friend* I just feel like I should apologize for messing up the title of your new fic... twice! :D

Don't worry about the title... I had it called that at first and only changed it to make it slightly less obvious.

I didn't even notice that it was wrong at first.

And, Hi Friend, back!
