Drive by posting..
Sep. 20th, 2005 07:56 pmI love Elliot Stabler.
I will post more to my LJ, I promise.
I am writing. This is good. I haven't written -- I mean, really written -- in... almost a year. That is bad. The not writing part, I mean. However, that's changed this past week or two. I will take that.
I love Bones and House.
I'm joining a new (real life) writing group next week. Not sure I'm ready for it, but I'm going to give it a try. I can deal with real people.
I'm still looking for a job. Cry me a river, I know. We're doing fine for now. Got some plans, it should work out.
Had a great weekend with
finabair. Got to watch almost all of Firefly (just missed out on 'Heart of Gold' because 'Objects in Space' is a better episode). I'm looking forward to Serenity.
I watched 'Threshold' which I liked. Not sure if it can maintain the darkness of the pilot but it was interesting the whole way through and I loved two of the characters. Strangely enough, one of them was the female lead and, predictably enough, the second was the dark and dangerous male lead. The young geek was also interesting. I will see if I can catch it again on Friday.
My mom and I are teaching confirmation again this year. We've got a great group of kids (seven 7th grade girls) and I like being able to share my thoughts and beliefs.
I also watched 'Surface' which I didn't like at all. I think I'm suppose to like the woman who is the main character of 'Surface' but when she threatened to destroy her son's favorite toy to make him behave, she had no chance of me ever sympathizing with her. Point of interest: It's wrong to teach your children that terrorism is the correct way to deal with people you love.
I'm still making like the busy homemaker -- OK... well, more like the busy 18th century farmwife. Helped my family butcher 40 chickens and 2 ducks last weekend. Then my dad got a deer bowhunting, so we had a deer to dress out. Monday we managed to make three batches of the Amazing Corn Relish. Say what you will, I'm feeding my family.
