Because I'm totally insane, I'm joining a bunch more LAS communities. And by a bunch I mean four. Well, that is a lot when you consider that it's all WRITING.

If you think you'd be interested in them, check them out. More fic is always good!

( Scenes ) You don't have to write a whole story, just a scene. I'm interested in seeing how this works.

( Ficlet ) Ficlets are at least 2000 words, which will let me write a few of those stories that would be short changed in the other LAS comms. And we get three weeks to write! *shifty look* Yes I know I will probably end up writing it the day it's due, but the option is there.

( Five Times ) I'm not sure about this one as I've only written one "Five Times fic" and most of the ones out there are shippy and you know me and ships. But I'll give it a try, mostly because it doesn't have a word limit and I'm in love with things without word limits!

( Drabble ) Write a drabble - 100 words only. And you only get a week, which is unfortunate because I think drabbles are harder to write than long fic. But I suppose I always wait until it due to write, so it really doesn't matter.

I'm joining two new Last Author Standing Communities. I really enjoy writing for them. The point of a LAS is to write a new prompt based fic (100-1000 wds) once every two weeks. All the fic is then voted on. Each voter choses a "Best written" and "Least well written" fic, giving reasons to support their choices. The author of the fic(s) with the most "Best" votes earns an extra bye, the author of the fic(s) with the most "Least" votes is eliminated.

It's sounds like it could be harsh, but it's really not. I've not been flamed in the comments and I'd say a good 3/4 of the comments are constructive criticism (even if I don't agree with the comment). The other comments are things like "I feel the characters are OOC" or "The fic didn't engage me". Things that are valid comments and not trollish, but not really helpful to me as a writer, except to remind me that you can't please everyone.

Do You Like To Write? There is a new challenge up at spn_las for voting! Fanfics between 100 and 1000 words based on a specific prompt. Come, read, and vote for the best/least well written. ... who will come out on top?

I know it sounds daunting, having to chose both a best and a worst and give reasons for the choices, but it's not that hard. All votes and comments are anonymous, so you don't have to fear that the author (like, say, me *grin*) will come back and troll you.

You really don't have to know the fandom, either. A well written story will be well-written even to those who aren't already familiar with the characters. Granted you can't make your choices based on how well the piece fits in or matches cannon, but good writing goes beyond that. For a general (and quick) rundown on how to vote.

And don't fear when you vote that you may be voting against me. Yes, one of the fics is mine, but if it's the worst of the five, c'est la vie. It's just a fic, not like being voted off the island, right?
