Yes, I'm not a teenager
Oct. 28th, 2006 03:06 pmSo here I am, reading posts about characters and, by default, actors I love, and people say: "He would be hot, but he's so old". In many cases, the actors are my age or even younger.
Of course, even when I was young(er) I never found the "boy" look attractive. As I've, ah, "matured", it's become even less appealing. The fact that actors may have been older than me was never a problem.
Still, I am often faced with the fact that most people online are mere children. I should give them an opportunity to grow. Add a decade or two of experience and they may turn out to be just fine. *grin*
I remember being young(er) and thinking that I had a handle on everything only to live a while and find out that the world is such much bigger and more complex than I ever gave it credit for being. Funny how the longer you live and the more you learn, the more obvious it becomes that you don't know everything and that confidence in opinions is often just arrogance in disguise. How does the Beatles song "Help" go?
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Still, I can't help being amused at how very young people are and how obvious it is that they are young.
