It has been an absolutely beautiful March.
It's a colder March than we have been used to. Not colder than is "normal" for this time of year, but considerably colder than we have been used to. We still have 12 - 20 inches of snow on the ground. That makes air temp colder than if it would be clear ground. The snow has hit that "dirty" stage that I despise -- where the top layers are evaporating and leaving the dirt behind. The trade off it the wonderful sound of tiny little rivers of water that spring out from under the snowbanks and rush off, creating little waterfalls over the curbs and across the still frozen ground.
The sun is beautiful! The best part about a snowy March is how warm the sun feels when it hits you. The way you can have three inches of new fallen snow in the morning (as we did yesterday) and it will all be transformed into that amazing moist smell of almost-spring by the afternoon.
I'm tempted to pull out the cushions for my swing so I can sit outside and listen to all the sounds of the world waking up from it's winter-sleep -- only I have three-feet of snowbanks and several inches of water covered ice between me and the swing. I will have to settle for my camp chairs. The benefit of them is that I can move them to be in the sun, because while the sitting in the sun is nice in March, you really notice that it is only 34(f) degrees when you are sitting in the shade.
Life is always changing. Not a useless truth.
