Batman....
Jul. 18th, 2008 02:44 amJust got back from seeing a midnight showing of The Dark Knight.
It blew me away. It had hints of Miller's "The Dark Knight" and "The Killing Joke". It kept completely in line with the last movie but yet was totally different. People died that I didn't expect to die. It combined two of Batman's villains without losing the main story and thematic through lines. The Joker was absolutely perfect and is the Joker as I always imagined him being.
Just when you thought you had it all figured out they set the plot on its ear in a perfectly acceptable and completely unexpected way. I need to see it again because I'm sure that I missed a great many things.
I also saw trailers for at least 5 movies I want to go see, including Watchmen.
My brain is fried and I need to go to work in the AM, but it was *SO* worth it.
And how it is possible that I don't have a Batman icon?
