and I'm feeling oddly ambivialant. Still have a couple of political ads popping up. The Obama "Vote early" ones amuse me the day after the election. Evertime I've seen them I always think of Pogo and his "Vote Early, Vote Often" slogan.

On the way to school today, Myr asked if I thought Obama's being black helped or hurt him. I said that I thought it was a wash -- that it probably helped as much as it hurt. I'm pretty sure that the number of people who voted against Obama because he was black was balanced by the people for voted for him for the same reason. We discussed for a moment the stupidity of not voting for someone simply based on the color of his/her skin, then she said, "Of course, it would be just as insulting to have someone vote for you just based on the color of my skin. Or the fact that I'm a woman." She's said this to me before, when we talked about Hillary's campaign, how she would be insulted if the only reason someone voted for her was because she was a woman. She did say, though, that if she had to choose, she'd rather they voted for her than against her. *grin*

Perhaps it's because I live where I do, but I like the federal (and for that matter state) government to stay as far away from me as possible. And I find that belief is shared by a lot of people up here no matter which of the Presidential candidates they voted for.

In the end, as they say, "We elected the government".

Now that the election and baseball playoffs are over, my lovely Wednesday primetime schedule is back to normal!

Bones!
Criminal Minds!
CSI:NY!

No more political ads to skip! No more evil, depressing news. All is right in the world and the modern-day Big Rock Candy Mountain is bringing me my favorite shows!

Huzzah!
