I like to argue. I love to debate. It's part of my nature.

However, as much as I love a good contest, I occasionally just want to be able to say something. Put a point out there. Share an idea.

Unfortunately, I rarely can do that. Perhaps it's because I like a good debate that those who know me see everything I say as me wanting to start a debate. It's just as likely that I just choose stupid points to make. It's most likely that I'm incapable of presenting a point without framing it as an argument.

In any case, I need to learn to shut up and let things lie. There are some points that just aren't important enough to make. And there is much truth to the statement "It's better the stay quiet and be thought a fool that open your mouth and remove all doubt". My problem is that I'm spectacularly brilliant at picking the right topic that will display my complete and total lack of logic or intelligence.

I love debate, really, I do. I just hate the fact that I'm not only incapable of sharing a thought without getting into one, but that I can't even do a decent job of defending my point when it turns into a debate.

And: GIP. Because it really fits.
