Question and Short List
Jul. 16th, 2009 11:27 amQuestion:
Has anyone reading this ever successfully made taffy? After two tries, burned fingers, sore hands and only hard candy as a result, I think I need help. So... HELP?
Short List of Opinions that Make Me Unique:
1) I like the new Syfy branding for the SciFi channel. I actually understand the reasons for doing so, even if those reasons annoy me. Besides it's so much fun to say "SciFi is now SyFy". It's the small things.
2) Michael Jackson's death is of no importance to me and I found the constant news about it puzzling. For that matter, the rash of stories on "it's 10 year's since JFK Jr" died also puzzles me. Add to that the fact that almost every magazine has a dead celebraty on the cover as of late. I've seen Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Heath Ledger and now JFK Jr. I find it all very... incomprehensible.
3) I don't follow actors, I follow *characters*. There is no actor that I like well enough to watch in a movie that I'm not interested in.
4) I like Michael Bay films.
5) I prefer American television and cinema to British.
6) I don't like most sitcoms -- I especially don't like them if the comedy is at the expense of characterization or based upon the stupidity, boorishness or stereotypical behavior or restricts the ability of the character to change or grow. This is why I didn't fall in love with "Chuck" when it first came out... I felt the comedy came at the expense of characters rather than coming from the characters.
I better stop there or it won't be a short list.
