  • Wed, 21:13: Wait- WikiLeaks is complaining that someone leaks classified info? LOL. Oh, it's *their* info. Double LOL. Karma's a bitch.

the complaint is that the "Leak" wasn't properly redacted. Removing names and such that would possibly get someone in trouble

Makes a good soundbite, but misses the mark on the truth

This was the statement I was reading, directly from Wikileaks:

GMT Wed Aug 31 22:27:48 2011 GMT

A Guardian journalist has, in a previously undetected act of gross negligence or malice, and in violation a signed security agreement with the Guardian's editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger, disclosed top secret decryption passwords to the entire, unredacted, WikiLeaks Cablegate archive. We have already spoken to the State Department and commenced pre-litigation action. We will issue a formal statement in due course.

WIKILEAKS

Being furious that someone entrusted with your secret information would betray that trust and leak it when you are an organization that does just that is hypocrisy.

Redaction isn't a guarantee of safety, especially redaction done by an outside group with a political agenda.

Working to unearth or expose secrets, betraying trust and publishing confidential information to the open public is an unsafe act no matter how noble (or ignoble) the motivations to do so.
