Public Service Announcement
As I was watching the news about the "unbelievable" and "horrible" snowfall that is taking place in the Northeast this morning, I noticed that a large number of the people interviewed stated that they were contemplating moving to a better, snow free local where they would not ever have to deal with snow in March again. And while I'm sure most of them know the information I am about to impart, I thought I would just make sure that it didn't slip their minds:
Wisconsin always gets snow in March. And not just northern Wisconsin, either. So when you are planning on exiting your current place of residence to a new, easier, warmer
And since most of you who are considering moving appeared to be living in cities, I will point out that, although Madison is rated on several lists as a "top place to live and work" it, too, gets snow in March. It is a well known fact that it often snows heavily in Madison right around the March state basketball playoffs.
Now, perhaps snow doesn't scare you off ('Heck,' you think, 'snow melts') and you live in the city anyhow. Really, other people plow the street and shovel the walks when you live in a city. So, I will also point out that Wisconsin if full of woods. Why should woods scare you, you think. Ah, obviously you have not watched enough movies. Haven't 'The Blair Witch Project', 'Evil Dead', or 'Friday the 13th' taught you anything? The most horrid evil in all the world lurks in the most remote woods
So -- and I say this only in love and with your best interests in mind -- don't move
Really.
