Touching Evil
Mar. 21st, 2004 04:41 pmI don't need another fandom, I really don't. I don't have the time to really indulge the fandoms I already hang around in. Let me amend that, I really don't have time to indulge in the fandoms that I lurk around in.
That said, I watched Touching Evil when it was on last week and caught the new episode yesterday. I think I could really like this show. It's not what I expected. From the ad and the title I was envisioning a more "Millennium" like show where Creegan has some sort of "other worldly" connection to the bad guys. (I really loved Millennium so that would have been fine with me). That doesn't seem to be the case, although he does has some unexplained thoughts, conclusions and leaps in logic.
There are a whole lot of questions I'd like answered. Like: What did he mean when he said "That's why they sent me back"? And what exactly did he experience when he died? From the latest episode (where he was very fatalistic about knowing how life ended and that everyone dies) I would think that it would have been less than ideal.
The secondary characters are all wonderfully written and acted. They go a long way to selling the show. I love Cyril. I love how Creegan reaches out to everyone. His partner is good, too. Little hints that's she's not all straight edges and by the book. I want to know more about Creegan's relationship with his boss and why the head guy is so willing to give Creegan this chance. And Creegan's ex-wife, just what is the deal with her? Obviously the divorce happened after Creegan was shot but they are on good terms and she obviously still cares for him. And I love how much he loves his kids. That's a wonderful trait.
