It began running in 1963 and was still running up 'til...what, 1990 or so? Partly, HEELP! I can't remember stuff! Then the Paul McGann movie was made - in the US, so it's a somewhat different flavor than the rest - sometime in the mid 1990s, 'cuz I remember discussing it with the Natpack.

I think the season 26 picture was Ace, who was a companion, but I didn't see much of her years either. College kept interfering back then.

When I think about it, I must have seen some of this season. I liked Ace and I liked what I can remember of her interaction with the Doctor.

I will have to look into watching it again sometime.

Oddly enough I always remember when Dr. Who started 'cuz it was the day after Kennedy was shot. November 23, 1963. It was a Saturday, for the record. It's the finish that I'm fuzzy on.

I probably saw an episode or three with Ace, but not in order, and it was during that period when I could watch two hours of a show and due to my general fatigue, I'd suddenly be wondering which person on the screen was the main character, again? So the memory's fuzzy at best.

Am also having trouble remembering Bonnie Langford's character's name at the moment.

I was never a fan though I watched a few episodes here and there. A neighbor and ex-friend on the other hand was so obsessed by Whoville that he not only wore his hair in the caucasion afro style well past the 1970's, but he named his daughter Nyssa. No doubt he's seen season 26, and season 2006 for that matter.

Dr. Who was the first fandom I was ever involved in. It has a fond place in my memory.

And I can't just people who name their children after a character in a television show too harshly.

I was wondering that myself.

I thought maybe they would have Davidson with the mention of cats but then I looked at the results.

I thing it was some poor schmuck who was at the mercy of PBS pledge drives and who never got to see some of the episodes... or maybe they only had pledge breaks during those episodes and they were contaminated because by the annoying interruptions for money.

That's possible, I suppose. Or they're one of the folks for whom "The Doctor" is all Tom Baker, all the time. But yeah, if they simply didn't like 2 & 5 they could have done like they did with 3. So you're probably right that they didn't see everything. I can't talk much; I didn't see much 7 and really only saw 6 once through.
