I love iTunes. I love being able to buy just the one song I like.
My two last purchases was Angel by Sarah McLachlan and Stuff That Works by Guy Clark. They didn't have Runaway by Del Shannon or I would have gotten that, too.
I love "The Very Secret Diaries". Anytime I see a picture of Legolas with anyone else I think: Still the Prettiest!
For fanfiction with less humor and less skillful execution you can try fanfiction.net and it's adult counterpart adultfanfiction.net. ff.net went NC-17 free because so many underage fans visit the site.
I must admit that a majority of my contact with ff.net and aff.net comes from the fascination of reading the fic (or, rather, skimming it) and then going: How could have they written that? And since I like only a small percentage of even well-written erotica, NC-17 fanfic doesn't really stand a chance.
Oh... and for some of the "seedy-underbelly" of the fanfic you can check out the LJ for The Train Wreck Syndrome Support Group. A place where people post things that are so horrible that they can't turn away from them. Needless to say, it has occasionally some truly horrid items in it. The worst I've run across in a while is this one. I don't hang out there much because I like to pretend that I don't know things like that exist.
