When
finabair was up here visiting she most thoughtfully brought up her bundled version of Myst containing Myst, Riven and Myst:Exile.
We played through Myst (and solved it successfully) together. YAY, us! And it was lots of fun.
Then we tossed in Riven and played around with it for a little bit. It also was great fun.
I've been working on it on and off for the last week, and I've been doing pretty good. Tonight I was working on it and came to a puzzle that I wasn't sure if I got right. It dealt with colors and the exact placement of things that were very hard to see, so I popped online to find a helpful site to check my results against.
I had it right. Yay, me.
I also notice, right at the top of the page, a very large notice that said I should not, under any circumstances, touch the cone shaped device at the beginning of the game.
Of course, since that was the first thing we saw when we got to the world, we touched it. It went on to say that if I did mess with it, I should revert to a save place before that point.
There is no such save point
I mean, it's almost the first thing we see, the game encourages us to play with everything, why would it ruin the game to touch that first?
Now, I'm not sure how reliable the hint is. But... ARRGGGHHH. There is a lot of work in the game to have it messed up by the first thing I did.
I need sleep.
