While I was fighting to get two old laptops in working order, I received this message:
WINWORD.EXE is not a valid Windows program. Please install a valid Windows program.
Okaaayyyy...
I tried to reinstall it and it said:
Unable to complete installation. Please uninstall old program first.
Fine.
I try uninstalling it and it says:
Unable to uninstall program. Currently in use by Windows.
Like, no. 'Cuz it just told me it wasn't a valid windows file and refused to open!
Then it locked up my computer because:
Program preformed an illegal operation..
Ya think?
Good grief.
It would have been more amusing if that particular series of events hadn't happened many times.
I did finally convince Windows that WINWORD.EXE was a valid windows program, I'm just not sure how I did that.
Heh. Typical.
