Well, back from church. Earlier this year than most Easter Sundays, mind.

As usual, Myr, my mom and I sang for the Easter pageant as part of the Praise Team. Our church is oh so very German. Spontaneity is accepted only when planned for in advance. Still, we have been making progress and the Praise Team and 'contemporary' worship service is part of that progress.

At Easter and Christmas we work on an all service piece. I generally don't do the Christmas music because it's much more difficult than I can be comfortable with. The Easter piece is usually easier and often has great speaking parts (that I just love). This year Wil was Luke, the narrator, and we sang songs around the narration.

We had to be at church at 6 am for warm up. The service started at 6:30 followed by breakfast in the church basement.

We did a great job. A terrific job considering we only had about six practices (of which I missed at least two). Wil only made it to the final dress rehearsal and he did a terrific job also.

We only had one performance, so we could leave after breakfast. So, home now, for a bit.

We'll be leaving soon to go to my folks. My and I were out yesterday, helping her make the food we will be having today. We always have homemade doughnuts on Easter, so we whipped up three batches yesterday. We will have to go and cut them out so they can raise a bit before we have to fry them. We also have roast (beef) and ham, a bunch of salads and all the miscellaneous food that we have at any family get together.

Actually, I'm thinking I should have been napping for the last couple of hours, but I may make it through the day.

I really wish I had tomorrow off from work, yet. Oh, well. I will survive, I suppose. It's supposed to warm this week and that is good. Spring is most welcome around here.
