I know I'm boring all of you with my 24 rantings, so I thought I'd share some music I found lately:
The Duhks
I bought their album off of iTunes. I usually just buy the song or two I really like and buy the CD if I like them well enough, but I fell in love with their sound and impulsively bought it.
It's wonderful. And eclectic. iTunes classifies them as either 'rock' (as they are called on the downloaded song info) or 'country' (where they are found in iTunes). I would say they also are fairly 'bluegrass', or 'folk/americana', or 'Ren-Fair-like'. It all depends on the song you listen to. They have a little of everything: Celtic fiddles, Irish reels, old-time banjo, gospel vocals, and Latin percussion... and it sounds wonderful together. It's a bit more instrumental than I got from the samples off iTunes and I think everyone in the band gets to lead on a song. It's never boring.
On their site you can download four of the songs off the album and Amazon has the tracks available, as usual.
See: I do think about things other than 24.Well, I also think a great deal about being unemployed, unemployable, old and unworthy, but those things just depress me when I write about them... so we'll just ignore those thoughts.
The Duhks are cool.
