I finally managed to complete my DVD collection of SG-1 with the DVD sale at B&N. Myr and I have been catching up on Season 7. It's very fun because me hadn't seen any of the episodes before and they are all great.
All I have to say is this:
The very best relationship on SG1 is between Jack and Teal'c.
I love that relationship. The brothers-in-arms, the comrades-in-war, the whole unspoken but completely understood bond of love and respect between the two characters. I love Jack and Sam, I love Jack and Daniel. I will miss Jack next season, but most of all I will miss the Jack/Teal'c interaction.
The other relationships on the show are wonderful but you can find variations of those relationships in a lot of places. The Jack/Teal'c relationship, though, is unique and one that is often avoided on television and one that is even more rarely allowed to remain as it is written.
It is the one relationship that I will miss above all others and hope that in the new character dynamics that they will come up with they will have one relationship that is written even half as well as this one was.
