"The camera isn't about truth, it's about the illusion of truth."

Do you know why "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words"? Because a picture is a story, it isn't a set idea. It's an illusion of something and a thousand words will barely be enough for one person to completely explain what the picture means or represents to him/her.

A picture isn't about truth because it only captures an image. Truth is in people, not pictures.

For someone like me, a picture sets off a scramble of words in my brain, all aimed at describing what I'm seeing in the most minute detail, whether I need to create it from whole cloth or I know the circumstance. As verbose as I am, I'd say a picture is worth about 6k words, but no one would get the reference:)

Yes, when I've got my "camera eye" on, it's literally looking at how this scene would look if flattened out and cropped and the color and light intensities were more subdued. No matter how you take a picture, it alters what you are seeing when you take it. And what you view the completed picture on or next to will again alter it.

It's fun.
