Just thought I'd share that.

And to prove that not being dead hasn't changed me any, I have some thoughts on television, life, and writing:

I will not watch Rescue Me. I have no idea what strange power Dennis Leary has over me, but I refuse to be pulled into his show no matter how many times I see the commercials. I will not. I will not. Do you hear me, Dennis Leary, I won't!

Was I the only on in the world who knew that Michael would be turned. The other's have his son! If the choice is between his son and some overly paranoid, secret keeping people that you happen to share a crashed plane with -- well, it's an easy choice. Granted, actually shooting people himself is more than I thought he'd be up to doing. There may be more at work here than just voluntarily working to save his son, but even if there wasn't I can't believe that no one thought he turned.

I certainly wouldn't have trusted him. It could be that I'm paranoid. More likely, it's that I don't know what I would do to save my own child.

I just can't be satisfied. I always want to have someone to discuss my fandom interests with. I bemoan the fact that my interest really aren't main stream, but when there is a fandom that I'm interested in that has a lot of discussion -- I find that I don't want to join in and talk abut what they are talking about. Take Doctor Who for instance. Ok granted, all my friends saw all the episodes I'm watching now last year, so it's old news when I see it, but I'm sure if I would post something about it people would converse. And, even though I can't see the episodes that everyone else is wildly gushing about, I could join in part of the conversation. But I won't.

It's just stubborn of me, I guess. I don't mind the spoilers and I love to share the thrill of an new episode. And usually I don't feel like a hanger on or a third wheel or what not. But lately... I'm that poor country mouse, too much a hick to in on the "cool stuff". Yeah, I know that's not it. Everyone is just excited and thrilled to talk about it.

Of course, I'm never on the right wave length anyhow, so perhaps it's best. I'm out of sync. Always have been.

It only bothers me once in a bit.

New Glarus Brewing Co. has made another really, very, terrifically good beer. As if their 'Spotted Cow', 'Fat Squirrel' and 'Raspberry Tart' aren't enough to make you nicely mellow, they now have 'Road Slush Stout'. It's as good as their 'Coffee Stout' they had a while back (but that I can't find any more *sob*). The description is: 'This dark stout is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra.' It's a beautiful dark beer, almost black, and it smells as wonderful as it looks. Yum.

On a more positive mote, I'm working for a couple of weeks. This is a very good thing Still, it took serious consideration to decide that I could afford to buy the aforementioned beer. Someone asked me if I had a dollar and you know, I didn't. Yeah, I know. Stop whining.

Consider me over it already.

There are several movies I want to see that are coming out soon. 'Over the Hedge' looks great. I even saw a trailer for 'Superman' that made me want to watch it. However, I think the new 'Pirates" movie will be the one I look forward to most. It looks awesome.

I have plants that need to be put into the ground. I'm hoping to do that tomorrow. Planting will be good. It's been so warm, so soon. It will be a wonderfully long summer. And it will be over too soon.

Totally. I have lots of friends seeing it for the first time on the SFC run, and am IMMENSELY enjoying watching them "new" (because mostly I haven't since we first got hold of them last summer, while I was frantically in the throes of J&H and couldn't really participate in discussion) and discussing them thusly.

You happen to know a lot of people for whom it's the triumphant return of an old favorite, who thus would have moved heaven and earth to get it. Plus, I think, they all know Tara. But there really are lots of new US fans who are in the same place you are. :-)
