I love spending a night out with my husband. I love that our dinner conversations include philosophy and fantasy in equal measures with our hopes and dreams.

There is something about being able to shift from every day concerns that rule a marriage on a day to day basis and connect on a more personal level. The level at which you can be who you really are -- beyond your job, beyond the needs of the moment, beyond the small talk that you can share with anyone. There's a joy in that connection beyond anything.

There are very few people on this earth that I trust implicitly. People who I know I can share anything with and they will respect me anyway. I, obviously, have trust issues. I trust Wil beyond anyone. I trust him more than I trust myself.

Life is philosophy. Life isn't what you see, it's how you interpret what you see. One of my favorite storytelling techniques is where the same event is seen through the eyes of different people. The events and the facts are filtered through the perceptions and beliefs of each point-of-view. By combining the points of view, the true story is told. Such is life.

We're very different people, Wil and I, when it comes done to our outlooks and philosophies that drive our actions. I'm fiercely independent, annoyingly optimistic, and tend to view the world in a "what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong" way. Wil, on the other hand, has a more flexible view of life. One that allows him to see things in a way that I can't. Or rather, usually don't. He sees more grey and less absolutes. He's visual and I'm textual. I read deeper meanings into everything and he takes it as he sees it.

We both also realize that truth lies somewhere in the middle of our outlooks. Or maybe somewhere outside of them. I'm sure that, together, we will be able to find it. And even if we don't, the fun it is the trying.
