There is no 24 without Jack. Kiefer Sutherland is what makes this show so good. I just don't see how anyone can carry the weight of this show as well as he does.

I loved Jack in the mosque, that totally reminded me of his "raid" on the mosque in season two -- right down to the Imam being an honest and good man. It was a very nice touch that the Imam knew who Jack was and quite obviously feared him. I kept fearing that Jack would be so affected by the bioweapon that he would become the very person that everyone thinks he is.

I have always loved that Jack is able to admit he is wrong. The conversation in the car with the Imam (again shades of season two) was wonderful. I loved Jack's guilt for everything, especially his guilt for not seeing that the Imam and the brother's were innocents right away. My favorite line -- "It's what I would have done". More importantly, it's what Jack has done.

Jack's character really shines when faced with that kind of steadfast belief. I love his reactions when the people he is using to get to his targets are actually on his side. Especially when they seem to understand exactly the effect this all has on him. Jack never knows quite how to react to sympathy from people that should hate him.

I almost felt sorry for Hodges. He obviously loved his family. But -- like Jack's dad from last season -- he loved his ego more. When he listed his losses he obviously mourned the loss of legacy that he mourned more than the family. Sure he stole away a picture of his family, but before he got in the car he told the Marshal that he "wasn't going to be Tippet forever". I know he was looking at a picture of his family before the car exploded, but I think it was more along of the lines of him planning on when he'd be able to be back with them, rather than thinking he'd never see them again.

And on the topic of the car blowing up -- Livvie canceled the hit and the guy clearly said that he wouldn't do it without payment. Hits generally don't happen on a "pay after the fact" deal, so I think he got paid -- I just think that it was the First Gentleman who did it. Henry is definitely the type to sanction the hit. IMHO, he was much to calm when talking to his wife and daughter about letting the man who killed his son walk away. He found out or was told about the hit and he stepped in to make sure it happened.

My biggest fear (well with this storyline)? Aaron is still with Livvie. He is going to get drawn into all of this and something bad is going to happen. There is nothing good that can happen out of all of this and there will be tears.

As for Jack's survival? I don't think Kim went to the airport. I think that she stopped and went back to the CDC to have the stem cell thing worked on. Next week she will show up with cure, tracking Jack down so he can have get treated. I really want this season is to end as season two did -- Jack on a stretcher and Kim by his side as he is being treated for the bioweapon. And... Renee standing off by herself, alone, watching for a moment until work pulls her away.

I have more. Thoughts on Tony and Jack. And Renee. But they deserve their own post.

Three episodes, two weeks. This show is going to kill me.
