I discovered today, quite by accident, that Supernatural has replaced "24" as my must watch show. I was helping Myr with her school work and I said "Well, how 'bout you take a break at 8:30 and we can watch the DVR of 24." Then I paused and said "Wait. I mean Supernatural!"
Heh.
This is good because I really miss 24. And Supernatural fills that hole.
Of course, I'm not going to be able to hang around most of the Supernatural fandom. I thought that I'd go a scope out some "instant feedback" and was immediately reminded of why I'm a lurker. You all know that I don't relate well to the female characters. I usually end up lacking the same love that everyone else has for the girls. I should find it oddly comforting that the one time I really like a female character most of fandom decides to hate her. At least it proves that I'm consistent in my "oppositeness". I know that they haven't defined Lisa much, and you know, that's okay by me. They haven't done anything stupid with her. She's strong and sure of herself and self-aware enough to know exactly what it is she's doing. Most importantly, she's not nagging Dean to change, she's not using emotional blackmail to demand he do things the way she wants them done.
I like characters who are self aware. It's a rare character trait -- and one that is rarely found in female characters.
I have many thoughts on the boys and how they're relating (or not). I'm just going to share that I like the way it's being handled. There is so much that is going on between all the characters that it would be false to have them work smoothly. I really like that both Sam and Bobby stuck to their guns on why they didn't tell Dean Sam was alive. There is such honest emotion and desire in their actions that while Dean clearly hates their choice, he can't deny there reasons. I'm sure there's a whole meta-post on when the "why's" of doing something mitigate the "wrongness" of the action.
That sounds like a theme Supernatural would be perfect for, no?

Things were so awkward between Sam and Dean. I get why they kept him out of it although I was oddly having flashbacks to the beginning of 24 season seven...
Also don't trust grampa. At all.
