Jonesing for a 24 fix, I ran across this little tidbit:
Geraint Wyn Davies has signed on as a "recurring" character in the upcoming season of 24. I was just reading an article saying how Kiefer Sutherland liked to have Canadian actors on the show.
It really is a small world -- especially when Canadians are involved.
*glee*
This makes me irrationally happy. I always liked GWD. Liked him in Forever Knight. Hell, I even liked him in the last season of Airwolf when they recast everything after Jan-Michael Vincent left the show. Of course, you have to keep in mind that "recurring role" on 24 may mean that he's in one scene for five shows before he dies horrible death. On the other hand, this may signal the new plot line of "Canadian terrorists".
Actually, I'm liking the rumors of the new plot for 24. It gets discovered that Jack is actually alive and certain governmental people would much rather have him stay dead. So, not only do they set out to kill Jack, they go about killing everyone who could know that Jack is alive. Kinda nice and personal after the big terrorist bomb/virus/meltdown plots they have been having. It will also appease all those who are touting 24 as rightwing propaganda... the show will have an obviously Republican president signing off on the assassination of a large number American citizens for his own personal political agenda.
*shakes head* I like to debate things with people, I don't see any reason to read political agendas into such an obviously plot driven show. Every thing is exactly what they need to be in order to drive the plot forward.
Actually that's one thing I like about the show. It doesn't take sides in the political arena -- it just has the characters be good or bad based on the needs of the show not on the political agenda of the writers.
Hmmm.. drifted off subject there! But still, much *glee* for GWD.

Date: 2005-08-24 04:26 pm (UTC)From:As pure speculation, I see an attempt on Tony and Michelle's live where Michelle is killed. Not that I don't like Michelle, mind you, but it would put Tony in a great place -- character-wise.
Kim always bugged me -- but I think that was do more to the poor way she was used, rather than the character herself. Kim was never given enough personality, IMHO, and was used too much as a plot device. Chase, I liked. With this new focus, I can see both of them showing up. Or dying early on.
